This bread will keep you full for hours! And it taste like heaven!
Maybe you know it already, but Denmark is known for eating a lot of multi grain breads like especially ryebreads.
When we eat ryebread we will slice it thinly and add different pastries on top of it. We call that for open sandwiches or “smørrebrød” and eat it mostly for lunch.
This recipe for a homemade stone age bread is kind of similar to rye bread, however it does not contain any flour or yeast.
Stone age bread is both Paleo and Gluten-free
The stone age bread or Paleo bread as it is also known as, is very simple and easy to cook. It consist of 6 different kinds of healthy nuts, grains and seed, some olive oil, eggs and a little salt.
In our house we have become totally addicted to the Stone Age bread.
What we really like is, that it takes only 5 minutes to mix together and then an hour in the oven. Bingo, and you have a fantastic loaf of healthy bread that can stay fresh for weeks in the fridge!
We love to eat this bread in slices or as a sandwich with for example ham, cheese or jam or spreads.
We eat this bread for both breakfast, lunch or just as a snack.
If you want a more sweeter stone age bread:
If you prefer, you can make the bread more sweet and “sinful” by adding a handful of chopped, dried Philippine Mangos. However if you’re feeling really naughty you add a handful of chocolate chips.
In this way you can eat this bread as it is, as a “bar” and is a delicious way to quench your hunger. Just bring a few slices with you on a trip or after school and sports.
This bread is made totally without flour, so even people with gluten intolerance can eat it!
There’s nothing better than homemade bread!
