Vanilla Butter Ring Cookies or Vanillekranse, is one of my absolute favorite cookies. They are normally made and served during the entire December for Christmas celebration and is a part of the huge traditional assortment of Danish Christmas cookies. The cookies are sweet, crispy and crunchy from the chopped almonds.
Recipes
Mulled Wine or Danish Gløgg
In December “hygge” is to enjoy a warm glass of good smelling, nice tasting, homemade mulled wine, or danish gløgg. Nothing taste more of Christmas then gløgg – and nothing can bring together family and friends than gløgg served with warm ebelskivers!
Almonds with Rosemary
Almonds with Rosemary… my absolute favorite in this writing moment! Not only are they fast to make, they are also a nice, healthy snack – as we all need in this joyful wintertime with Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner!
Tomato Salsa
I’m just so tired of the store bought versions of Tomato Salsa! Every time I buy it, I really believe that this time it will taste so much better than the previously – but every time I end up disappointed and with a very watery non-tasting boring kind of “salsa”.
Overnight Oats with Espresso
Here I go again with my never ending love for overnight oats, and this time overnight oats with espresso and chia seeds. The best of the best; coffee and breakfast in one! What a lovely combination.
Danish Klatkager or Lump Cakes
When you say porridge especially Rice Porridge you also has to say Lump Cakes or Danish Klatkager. Those goes hand in hand. This recipe is a dear one from my childhood. I always always served this treat when visiting my grandparents as a child.
Rice Porridge in Oven
Do you sometimes want dinner (or dessert) to be easy, child friendly and cheap too!? I can recommend preparing rice porridge in oven next time. In Denmark we normally serve rice porridge during December leading up to Christmas. We are calling it Santa’s favorite food!
Tapioca with Lemon
Today I overruled my kids wishes and decided to introduce them to one of my childhood favorites; tapioca with lemon and vanilla. It’s getting colder outside and today my kids wanted rice porridge sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar and topped with a big spoonful of butter.
Lemon and Lime Salt
This is an easy lemon and lime salt that is so delicious and so useful in almost every dish with either fish or meat – or how about trying it on your salad?
Muffins with Lemon and Poppyseeds
Do you feel like Muffins with Lemon and Poppyseeds? I do. I always do! haha – and these delicious muffins drizzled with a refreshingly lemon-icing makes it out for my sixth part in “when a best friend gives you a lemon…”
Lemon Oil
I’m still in my Lemon mood and today I’ll show you how how easy it is to make your own Lemon Oil. Lemon-infused olive oil is obviously fabulous to use in salad dressings but the oil is also nice to have on hand to simply drizzle over grilled vegetables, chicken, or fish. The oil is…
Frosted Lemonade
A refreshingly ice cold Frosted Lemonade topped with whipped cream is my part four in “when a best friend gives you a lemon…”
Pasta with Lemon and Thyme
I’m still here, working on a lot of projects, but now I’m ready to serve this simple dish for you: Pasta with Lemon and Thyme. – Yep, still have a lot of inspiration for you to do with your Lemons 🍋
Sugar Lemon Scrub
Part two in “when a best friend gives you a lemon…” will this time introduce you to this wonderful Sugar Lemon Scrub. If you haven’t tried homemade scrub before, you will be amazed how wonderful it is for both hands and body!
Danish Citronmåne or Lemon Cake
This, my first lemon-post in many, will be a classic Danish Citronmåne or lemon cake! The Danish answer to the donut-eating movie picture of the American cops. Here comes the Lemon moon witch is straight translated from the danish name of the cake; Citronmåne. But lets just call it Lemon Cake.
