Homemade granola is the easiest and healthiest to make in this world.
You probably already know, that I love to make homemade yogurt. We eat a lot of yoghurt in this home! It is so healthy for your guts. We grab a glass of yogurt for breakfast, quick snack after school or in-between sports activities.
To vary the yoghurt a bit, we top it with what we have in the house of fresh fruits, raisins or different kinds of homemade granolas.
What is granola?
Granola is a breakfast food and snack food made out of mostly of rolled oats, different kinds of nuts and honey or other sweeteners such sugar.
Granolas are baked in the oven. During the baking process, the mixture is stirred occasionally to get a loose consistency.
When you make your own granola you can add dried fruits like raisins, apricots, mangos, coconut or dates. You can also add chocolate bites if you want a sweeter granola.
If you want to improve your digestion, you can add flax seeds or chia seeds to your mix.
Granola is often eaten in combination with yogurt, honey and fresh fruits, but it also serves as a topping for various pastries, desserts or ice cream.
For people that likes to hike, camp or backpacking, granola is an easy way to get a nutritious, lightweight, high in calories, and easy to store snack. Just like trail mix are.
This granola is one of our favorites – and it only takes 20 minutes in total to mix up.
