This is how you make Boba Tea the easy way!
Boba tea is also known by a lot of other names: bubble tea, pearl tea, boba nai cha, pearl shake and tapioca ball tea etc.
However, no matter what you call it, it’s the same delicious, addicting drink.
Bubble tea can be enjoyed hot or cold, but it always contains three main ingredients:
- Tea (sometimes referred to as the base) which is usually black or green tea.
- Milk or a milk flavored powder.
- And finally, you have the tapioca pearls.
The tapioca or pearls are made from tapioca starch and have a slightly sweet taste. They are soft and chewy and are the main reason why you need an fat straw to drink your milk tea.
Boba tea comes in a variety of flavors like Taro, Mango
, Banana
Honeydew
, Matcha Green Tea
, Milk Tea
, Mocha Frappuccino
, Chai Tea
, and a lot of other flavors, which can be made with real milk or a milk creamer.
Boba Tea the easy way
Ingredients: (1 serving)
4 tablespoons of Tea Flavor
1.5 cup of hot tea (any tea can be used! – but you can also just use hot water if you are in a hurry!)
1/4 cup of Tapioca Pearls, cooked
1 Boba Drinking Straws, Jumbo Fat Giant
Start by mixing your favorite flavor (mine is mango or black tea!) of Milk Tea Powder in a cup and add hot tea and the cooked tapioca pearls.
Finally top with ice cubes if you prefer it cold.
Serve immediately with a big fat straw and enjoy :o)
Preparing the tapioca pearls:
1 cup of Tapioca Pearls
10 cups of water
(1 pinch of sugar/honey)
Start by boiling about 10 cups of water for every 1 cup of tapioca pearls, in a large pot.
Then add the tapioca pearls slowly into the boiling water and stir lightly until tapioca floats to water surface.
Now cook them by medium heat for 5-8 minutes and stir occasionally to make sure the pearls are not sticking to each other or to the pot.
Turn off the heat and let simmer another 5-8 minutes (adjust time to soften tapioca to personal taste).
Scoop out the tapioca and let them rest in cold water for about 20 seconds.
Remove to a dry bowl and you may mix with a pinch of sugar or honey.
Eat within 4 hours after cooking.
I also LOVE to add those Tapioca pearls when I enjoy my Matcha Infused Juice!
It oh, so yummy too! Have you ever tried that??
Enjoy – and be amazed!
