Do you also ends up with a lot of bananas that are just a bit too ripe to eat? No, problem, this banana cake will rescue you from throwing them out.
Uhm.. Banana Cake.. Definitely one of my favorites!
This one is sweet and spongy and taste sooo good with the melted chocolate on top! – and it only get’s better the day(s) after!
This is not a “light” aka. airfilled, fluffy cake. It will get pretty “solid” from all the moist in the bananas.
-Just the way we like it! ;o)
– and then again – it’s always good to have an excuse to bake a cake, simply because your bananas got too boring to just eat plain, right?! ;o)
Banana Cake
Ingredients: (serves 10)
1 vanilla pod or 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Bean Paste
1 cup of sugar
4 eggs
1 cup of flour
1 stick of butter (100 g)
1 teaspoon of baking powder
3-4 bananas (blended)
1.5 cup of chocolate chips
Start by mixing the the beans from 1 vanilla pod (or use 1 teaspoon of the wonderful Vanilla Bean Paste), sugar and eggs to a fluffy mass.
Add flour, melted butter and baking powder and the blended bananas and mix again.
Cover a Springform Pan with parchment paper and pour in the dough.
Bake for 45 minutes in a 350 degree Fahrenheit warm oven.
Let the cake cool completely before you cover it with 1.5 cup of melted chocolate chips.
(you could also add the chocolate chips to the dough instead, before you bake the cake)
Hope you enjoy my little munchkin as much as I do! :o)
Enjoy!
That’s one of my fav cake: so simple bananas and chocolate! The perfect combo and one of the top 5 in our kitchen! xx cathy
YAY!! Happy you like it! Sometimes simple is better! ;o)
