When we have an urge to crave something delicious to either a glass of wine in the garden, for unexpected guests or in front of a good movie we often end up with this super easy hummus.
You can of course make it from scratch by soaking dried beans overnight and then boil them for 1½ hour … but we always have a stock of canned chickpeas or pinto beans standing, and use those instead.
Hummus – the quick way to joy
1 can (15 oz) of beans (eg chickpeas or pinto)
¼ cup of olive oil
½ teaspoon of cumin powder
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 clove of garlic
1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
a pinch of chipotle
Rinse the beans under running water, boil for about 20 minutes’ time and blend with the remaining ingredients.
(For a more light version you can use a little bit of the cooking water instead of olive oil.)
That was easy peasy, right!
