Impress your family and friends – and bake your own baguettes!
Homemade bread can save everything – even the dullest salad or soup.
This bread requires no special ingredients than you normally have in your kitchen.
The breads are also suitable for a great sandwich ;o)
Ingredients: (makes two baguettes)
1 spoonful dry yeast
½ cup water
1 spoonful honey or sugar
1½ tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1½ cup flour
Activate the dry yeast in the warm water by adding honey (or sugar). When it start to bubble, the yeast is ready for the rest of the ingredients.
Add salt, oil and flour and knead the dough well – preferably for 10-15 minutes!
Let the dough rise, covered, for about half an hour and then form the two long breads – which again raises about 15 minutes under a kitchen towel.
Brush the loaves with water and bake them at 440 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.
Brush the loaves with water again when they come out of the oven.
Serve to a delicate salad, dip in olive oil or spread it with garlic butter! Yum!
